Description

Tastylia 20 mg comes in the form of an orally disintegrating strip that is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men. Erectile Dysfunction, also known as impotence, is a condition in which a man cannot get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. It occurs as a result of improper blood flow to the penis. This drug contains Tadalafil as its active ingredient that helps achieve an erection by increasing the blood flow to the penis. The strip should be used at least 30 minutes before indulging in sexual intercourse. The effects are known to last for around 36 hours.

How Does It Work

Tastylia 20 mg contains Tadalafil as its active ingredient, which is a PDE 5 inhibitor. It relaxes the smooth muscles in the blood vessel walls and helps increase the blood flow to the penis. cGMP is responsible for the contraction and dilation of blood vessels, and its production is crucial for the penis because it allows more blood to flow into the penis for an erection. PDE5 is responsible for the destruction of cGMP. Tadalafil blocks the action of PDE5 and enables the production of cGMP, resulting in the penis being filled with more blood. Once the penis gets filled with blood, an erection is achieved.

Erectile Dysfunction(ED): a condition in which a man is unable to get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse.

Recommended Dosage

Tastylia 20 mg is recommended to be taken once per day, with or without food. You can place the strip 30 minutes to 1 hour before planned sexual intercourse. It should not be taken more than once in 24 hours.

Missed dose

You are less likely to miss a dose as this drug is usually taken as and when needed.

Overdose

An overdose of this drug can lead to severe side effects. Seek medical help immediately in case of an overdose.

Side effects

Common side effects of Tastylia 20 mg include:

• Problems with vision
• Lightheadedness
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Facial flushing
• Nose bleed
• Breathing difficulties
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Indigestion
• Palpitations
• Pain in muscles
• Insomnia

Serious side effects include:

• Numbing or tingling sensation in the legs or arms.
• Allergic reaction – rashes, facial swelling, or breathing issues.
• Sudden vision or hearing abnormalities.
• Seizures
• A painful erection that stays for more than 4 hours
• Pain in the chest (during or after sexual activity).

Drug Interactions

Tastylia 20 mg can interact with certain drugs and alter the way it works. These include:

• Nitrate-containing treatment drugs – Amyl or butyl nitrite, isosorbide mononitrate, nitroglycerin.
• HIV treatment drugs – Ritonavir, Lopinavir.
• Antibiotics – Erythromycin, Rifampicin, Telithromycin, Clarithromycin.
• Alpha-blockers such as Tamsulosin, Prazosin, Alfuzosin, Terazosin, Doxazosin.
• Magnesium or Aluminium hydroxide (used for stomach acid).
• Antifungal drugs belonging to class ‘Azoles’ like ketoconazole.
• ED treatment pills – Sildenafil, Vardenafil.
• Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension therapies that use Riociguat.
• Antiepileptic drugs like Phenobarbital, Carbamazepine.
