Description
How does it Work?
Vilitra 40 contains the active ingredient vardenafil 40mg. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, allowing for an erection to occur. During sexual stimulation, the lining of the blood vessels in the penis releases nitric oxide (NO). NO stimulates the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the smooth muscle cells of the penis. cGMP causes the smooth muscle cells to relax, which widens the blood vessels in the penis. The increased blood flow to the penis fills the spongy tissue (corpus cavernosum) with blood, causing an erection.
Vilitra does not directly cause an erection. It enhances the natural erectile response by increasing penile blood flow when sexually stimulated.
Uses
- Erectile dysfunction (ED): A condition characterized by the inability to achieve and maintain an erection.
- Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH): It is a condition characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs.
